DYSGRAPHIA


Dysgraphia is a learning difficulty characterized by difficulties in expressing thoughts in writing. This is often manifested as poor / untidy handwriting.

Managing written language involves coordinating the eyes, arms, hands, pencil grip, letter formation, and body posture. An occupational therapist may also provide evaluation and intervention for children’s prewriting skills and handwriting readiness.

Occupational Therapist may work with children with dysgraphia in the following ways:

  • Developing shoulder stability and upper extremity control
  • Refining grasp and release
  • Improving postural control and positioning
  • Improving bilateral integration and control

Our Policies

Confidentiality:

The information obtained from you will remain confidential and will not be shared with a third party without written permission, except under the following circumstances:
  1. Therapist’s perceives that you may hurt yourself or others
  2. Information indicates child abuse or neglect
  3. An order from the court to disclose information

Cancellation:

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours prior to your schedule. You may call us at +65 6100 9235 and leave a message with the receptionist or on the voice mail or you may also cancel by email to inquiry@therapy.com.sg. If you fail to do this, you will be charged for the missed session unless a medical certificated is provided.  This practice is standardized within the psychology profession.
